1793 S.14 R5 Liberty Cap Large cent, PCGS G details, exc corrosion.  Yes indeed, this one likely spent some time in the ground.  However, there are no major hits, no edge dings and no "damage" but the environmental roughness.  Any 1793 Cap has real charm to it, though that may reflect our affinity for this issue - 1793 Liberty Cap cents are our favorite US coin type.  And, with only 11,056 produced, the universe of available specimens is just not that large.  And for this specific obverse die too...clearly it broke during hardening, since no example is known without the monster, rim-to-rim die break seen here.  A really great coin for the collector on a tight budget, as you are very unlikely to find a '93 Cap much cheaper...and it is overwhelmingly likely to be an S.13.
